A floating wooden roof cloud hovers at the threshold between city and countryside, creating something entirely new. This bold gesture effortlessly unifies all functions, giving the place a new identity.
The whole replaces the sum of its parts—togetherness instead of mere coexistence. The result is a series of surprising, well-structured spaces with distinct qualities and clear functional designations.
On one hand, there is the central station square, aligned axially as an extension of Bahnhofstraße, featuring strategically placed trees and a partially covered area. The roof structure serves as a gateway to the city, while in the opposite direction, it frames the Alpine landscape.
Adjacent to this, the cultural platform is located east of the former Oberbahnamt, explicitly designed to invite artistic engagement with contemporary works, reinforcing Rosenheim’s supralocal cultural significance.
In collaboration with Seifert Hugues Architekten and HinnenthalSchaar Landschaftsarchitekten.
