On behalf of doranth post architekten GmbH, we took on the design, execution planning, and tendering for the custom-made tiered seating and chairs specifically created for this venue’s central theater space.

Finally, on January 17, 2014, the time had come: after years of complex renovation and redesign work, the Deutsches Theater München reopened its doors. Shows and musicals, cabaret, and dance performances—visitors come to enjoy lighthearted entertainment. Located south of Munich’s main train station, the theater and event halls occupy an entire district with a complex spatial structure.

Originally built in a neo-Baroque style between 1894 and 1896, the theater halls were heavily damaged during the war. Rebuilt in 1951 and first renovated in 1979-80, the building was now undergoing a partial restoration in line with historical preservation standards, alongside a contemporary redesign of the entire complex.

The venue operates in two distinct seasons: one for dance, carnival, and ball events, during which the space is largely cleared, and another for musical and theater performances, offering a total of 1,550 seats across the stalls, gallery, and balcony.
