For a metro line in Belgrade, we worked as part of an interdisciplinary team to develop fundamental design ideas for the stations, based on a purely technical preliminary plan. Our focus was on how the stations connect to the surface and relate to the urban and social context – through landscape and natural daylight. The spatial program of the concourse levels also goes beyond typical retail uses, aiming instead to function as an incubator and space for social, ecological, and cultural energies.
