The new spaces for change FACTORY are located in the “Fruchthof,” a former warehouse once used for ripening fruit next to the wholesale market hall, which is now occupied by creatives—imbuing the entire block with a vibrant atmosphere of fresh beginnings and workshop energy. The proposed concept comes across as flexible and pragmatic, transparent, down-to-earth, authentic, and unconventional.
The large, flowing space has been zoned, with distinct areas unfolding for the passerby—inviting and intimate. The result is a unique place defined by the austere, industrial expression of the aluminum profiles of the greenhouses and their glazing, the generous, oversized tables, the expansive mirror surfaces of the archive, and the sparing yet significant use of the color orange.
A place where people can meet on equal footing, with equal expectations. Beyond their literal function, greenhouses serve as metaphors for that which is nurtured, for intentional transformation, for what is curated by people for people, for growth and loving care, for being grounded, and for the fruit of collective work. A place for everyone. A place for equals.
